Party Organization
How the Libertarian Party of Louisiana is structured and governed.
Our Structure
The Libertarian Party of Louisiana operates under state law (LA RS 18:442) with governance through a State Central Committee and Parish Executive Committees.
State Central Committee
The LPL's governing body, made up of elected representatives from organized parishes across Louisiana. The SCC sets party policy, manages state-level operations, and coordinates with the national Libertarian Party.
Parish Executive Committees
Each organized parish maintains a Parish Executive Committee (PEC). Any organized parish with a PEC qualifies as an official Sub-Affiliate of the LPL and functions as the grassroots foundation of the party at the local level.
Sub-Affiliates
Campus groups and other liberty-focused organizations may receive official Sub-Affiliate status. The LPL itself functions as a state-level affiliate of the national Libertarian Party.
Standing Committees
The organization also maintains additional standing committees for ongoing operations, covering areas such as membership, elections, media, and party development.
Governing Documents
The LPL's foundational documents consist of bylaws, special procedural rules, and the party platform.
